The darkness and the water kept us from seeing what was going on with the fire station, but from floating, swirling, hissing, propane tanks, to all the debris crashing into the building sides we kinda guessed that the fire station was taking a beating. | |
The Ivan Flood not only forced the firefighters to higher ground, but most of the station's vehicles as well. Ray Chambers as the driver was ready to go, but Lake Logan Road (Hwy 215) in many places was under water. During the flood's peak it made a lot more sense to wait and see, than it did to test the waters. |
