(for Windows and Mac OS X)
- Download Thunderbird: Click Here
-
Click on Thunderbird (under Other Mozilla Software).
-
Click on Free Download. On that page are instructions for downloading and installing the program.
-
Locate your MAIN username, password and incoming and outgoing mailserver information.
-
Frequently, it will have a New Account Setup wizard run after you open it. Just follow the directions (make sure you use your MAIN settings in the setup, especially choose POP mail server rather than IMAP).
-
If you need them, here is a detailed set of general instructions on the Internet (make sure you use your MAIN settings in the setup, especially choose POP mail server rather than IMAP): Click Here
NOTE: You only need to connect to send new messages or receive new messages. After configuring your email program, you will able to compose emails to send and can read emails that you have already downloaded without being connected to the internet. In order to do this, all you have to do when Thunderbird wants to connect is to click on "Work Offline" or "Cancel" the connection.
