So, Where's My Site?

To check your website, open a web browser and enter your website address in the address bar in the form:

http://yourcounty.main.nc.us/~yourusername
- substituting YOUR county and YOUR username for MAIN. Be sure to preceed your username with the "~" symbol (usually in the upper left corner of your keyboard). Hit the Return key on your keyboard or click Go. If you entered your address correctly, your website should load and you should see your home page.

When you are done, click

"Disconnect".

General Fetch Tips

If you need to replace any file with an updated version, all you need to do is upload a file with the exact name of the one you are trying to replace and it will overwrite the old file. Also make sure you're uploading the replacement file into the same directory as the one you wish to replace.

If you wish to remove a file entirely, select the file by clicking on it in the main window, go to the Remote menu at the top of your screen and select Delete Directory or File... CAUTION: There is no "Undo" with this function.

To navigate from your Images folder back to your public_html folder, use the pull-down menu above the files listing window, as shown below.

To avoid filling out the connection box each time you need to transfer files (CAUTION: If anyone other than yourself has access to your computer, they too can use this bookmark to bypass the login stage and have full access to all of your online files!):

1. While in your public_html folder, go to the File menu and select Save Bookmark...
   
2. Type in a name, navigate to the Desktop, and then Save.

Now you will have a desktop icon that, when double-clicked, will open Fetch and take you directly to your public_html folder.
