10th Annual Power of Pink 5K and 1-mile Honor/Memory/Survivor Walk
24 Sep 2016
10th Annual Power of Pink
The Haywood Healthcare Foundation, in partnership with the Haywood County Health Department and Haywood Regional Medical Center, are raising funds for breast cancer detection and providing mammograms for underserved women in Haywood County. Help us eradicate breast cancer by celebrating and remembering those individuals who have battled this disease by supporting and participating in this event held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Since 2007, 800 women in Haywood County have received these life-saving cancer screenings.
Our traditional 5K will use the same course as last year and start at 9:00 AM. After the 5K there will be a 1-mile Honor/Memory/Survivor Walk. Walkers can register for $10 and all 5K participants are welcome to join in the Memory Walk after the 5K race at no cost.
Back for 2016! All participants are welcome to run/walk with your four-legged family members in the 5K and Memory Walk. It costs $10 to register your dog(s) in addition to the race registration fee, and all registered dogs will receive commemorative Power of Pink bandana. Packet pick-up and registration for all participants with dogs will be outside the Fitness Center. All dogs must be on a leash, have up to date shots and tags. The race officials will not allow your dog to participate if these guidelines are not met.
The Power of Pink is an event of the Haywood Health Care Foundation. Visit them at www.HaywoodHealthCareFoundation.org
