BEAR WALLOW 5K and FIRETOWER RUN
Gerton, North Carolina
This event features the Southeast's fiercest 5k, featuring more than 1,400 feet of elevation gain over its 3.1 miles and the Firetower Fun Run for kids to get in on the trail running action. Enjoy music and a cold beer at the finish line (21+ runners get one free). Runners will enjoy free post-race snacks and there will be food vendors on site.
Course Description
Starting at the bottom of Bearwallow Mountain Rd in Gerton, NC, the Bearwallow Beast 5k features one of the most unrelenting climbs you'll find in the Appalachians - over 1,400 feet. Traversing asphalt, forest service roads and single-track trail, the course will offer a challenge for even the most experienced runner.

AWARDS:
Overall awards will be presented to the top 3 overall male and female.
Age group prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female in the following age groups: 15 & Under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & Over.
