A Taste of Bioneers

21 Nov 2014

The Reese Institute for Conservation of Natural Resources at Lenoir-Rhyne University and the Catawba Brewing Company would like to invite you to the third annual Asheville “A Taste of Bioneers” Conference. The theme for this year's Bioneers Conference is “Growing the Movement,” with the mission to build community sustainability and resilience through shared wisdom. For this event we will beam in speakers from the national Bioneers Conference such as: Terry Tempest Williams on “Why Wilderness Matters,” Eve Ensler on “Ending Domestic Violence,” Naomi Klein on “Capitalism and Climate Change,” Paul Stamets on “Mycelium, Mushrooms, and Mytotechnologies,” and Kristen Sheeran on “Scaling Solutions for Social Change.” There will also be a selection of local panels to follow each of the national speakers. Local organizations represented on these panels include: Wild South, The Wilderness Society, BlueRidge Outdoors, YWCA, Our Voice, Asheville Mushroom Club, and Mountain Mushroom. The dates of the Conference will be Friday November 14th and Friday November 21st (5:30-10PM) at the Asheville City Chamber of Commerce building, also home to Lenoir-Rhyne University Center for Graduate Studies. Food and drink will be provided at the event, including beer from the Catawba brewing company. This event is free and open to the entire community. Come join us as we socialize, learn, share and grow together as a community!
