In collaboration with the SoCon Basketball Tournament and Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission, The Arc Buncombe County is hosting it's Inaugural 5k March Run/Walk. It's a fun, healthy and easy way to support people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities. The funds raised from this event will assist families in crisis, provide children and adults with health and wellness training, and support The Arc's programs and services.
The Arc of Buncombe County advocates for and serves children and adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Developmental Disabilities, including Down syndrome, Autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, cerebral palsy and other diagnoses. The Arc of Buncombe County is a part of a network of over 700 chapters across the country promoting and protecting the human rights of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes without regard to diagnosis.
After the run and award ceremony, you're invited to watch the SoCon Basketball Tourney's Downtown Dribble; a parade where kids get to dribble a basketball from the Vance Monument to the U.S. Cellular Center!
