Jan-Philipp Sendker joins us to discuss his new novel, A Well-Tempered Heart, the follow up to The Art of Hearing Heartbeats. After an arduous ten years trying to get The Art of Hearing Heartbeats published in the US (it was originally published in Germany, the author’s home), it found a publisher and has reached bestseller status in Germany. Huffington Post said, “it’s stories like The Art of Hearing Heartbeats that show how our very existence is important,” and the book was given an Indies Choice Honor Award from the American Booksellers Association. A foreign correspondent for many years, Sendker lives in Berlin with his family.
