The historic Monte Vista Hotel in Black Mountain On US HWY 70 will host “Local Writers Read at the Monte Vista” on Thursday, July 11.
Starting about 4:30 to 7ish PM , the authors promise short readings followed by interaction with attendees. There will be free hors d’oeuves, a cash bar, and drawings for free books.
The writers include Sallie Bissell, reading from her latest novel of suspense, Music of Ghosts; Jeanne Charters, whose columns for WNC Woman are collected in Funny, Isn’t It?; poet Nancy Dillingham, reading from her latest collection: Home; Cynthia Drew may read from her children’s book, her baseball book, or her historic novel, City of Slaughter; novelist and poet, Julia Nunnally Duncan, will feature her recent Barefoot in the Snow; and poet/publisher Richard Krawiec, whose 2012 collection was She Hands Me the Razor. Celia Miles will sign her new novel, Sarranda’s Heart: A Love Story of Place.
