Foreign Film Night - "A Very Long Engagement" will be screened at the Weaverville Library on Tuesday, July 9th at 7:00. This French film from 2004 follows five desperate French soldiers during WWI who shoot themselves, either by accident or on purpose, in order to be sent back home. Having been "caught" a court-martial determines punishment to be banishment to No Man's Land so the Germans can finish them off. In the process of telling this tale each man's life is briefly explored along with their next of kin as one's fiancée tries to determine the circumstances of her lover's death.
