NC Science Festival Statewide Star Party

5 Apr 2013

Children and their families are encouraged to participate in a global campaign, GLOBE at Night, to observe and record the brightness of the faintest stars visible as a means of measuring light pollution in a given location. Lake James State Park will once again be hosting this year's event in conjunction with the NC Science Festival. Join us to learn about light pollution, look at some stars and learn how you can contribute to the cause. Meet at the Catawba River Area office at 8 p.m. There will be a short indoor presentation followed by some stargazing outdoors. Please register by calling the park office at 828-584-7728.
