Sing Sing Sing!! Voices in the Laurel Open Rehearsal Night

Sing sing sing!! Come join Voices in the Laurel Children's and Youth Choirs regional choir program! Voices in the Laurel has sung with Broadway stars, country legends and every year sings the National Anthem at a professional ball game! We participated in a performance tour in Spain in 2012 and will be performing in New Orleans summer 2013!

Join us on Tuesday March 26th, 2013 to check it out! 1st and 2nd grades rehearsal begins at 4:00pm, 3-5th grades at 5:00pm and 6-12th grades at 6:15pm.

Who should come? Students in grades 1-12 who LOVE to sing all styles of music: Broadway, gospel, classical, world music, jazz and new art music. Singers who: want to have fun and meet friends from all over Western North Carolina. Singers who want to work with instructors with outstanding credentials. Singers who want to open the door to great musical adventures!

Singers in 1st and 2nd grades join Treble Makers without an audition. Singers in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades may audition for Concert Choir, while singers in grades six through twelve may audition for Chamber Choir.

Voices in the Laurel is a Haywood County based non-profit choir for young people ranging from 1st grade through 12th grade from Haywood, Buncombe, Jackson, Macon and Swain counties under the direction of Martha Brown. Voices in the Laurel is an authentic program that focuses on providing young people quality choral education in fun and innovative ways. The program does have tuition for instruction and uniforms.

Voices in the Laurel provides choristers the opportunity to participate in performance tours all over the world. Some of the places Voices in the Laurel has performed are: with the Asheville Lyric Opera at the Diana Wortham Theater, Charleston’s "Little Spoleto" Festival, opened for Dolly Parton in her Christmas show at Dollywood, with Ronnie Milsap at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, the National Anthem, at Atlanta Braves games, at a Cincinnati Reds game, the Pacific Rim Children’s Choir Festival in Hawaii, the National Cathedral in Washington DC, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan, Westminster Abbey in London, Chartres Cathedral in France and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Voices in the Laurel Chamber Choir most recently enjoyed a summer 2012 performance tour in Madrid and Barcelona, Spain.
