Birds of Paddy's Creek
17 Feb 2013
Even during the dead of winter, the woods are never quiet. Join Park Ranger Earl Weaver for a birdwatching hike on the Paddy's Creek Loop Trail. We'll be on the lookout for several wintering species, including red-breasted nuthatch, hermit thrush, yellow-bellied sapsucker and red-shouldered hawk. Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather forecast and footwear that will be comfortable during this moderate, 1-mile hike. Meet at the Paddy's Creek bridge parking lot at 10 a.m. Call 828-584-7728 for more information. |
