The Republic of Korea,
Its Role and Leadership:
The New Economies and Politics of the Asia-Pacific
The World Affairs Council of Western North Carolina is pleased to welcome Consul General Kim from the Atlanta Consulate of the Republic of Korea for our December lecture and discussion.
As the United States shifts its strategic and economic concerns to the Asia Pacific, it is important to know and understand the concerns, interests and perspective of one of its more significant member states -- a long-term ally, a democratic Asian Repubic, a modern economic engine and innovator -- including its unique culture, history, and strengths.
Consul General Kim was only last year elevated to the top position in the Atlanta Consulate having served over 30 years in the government. He has held several foreign-service positions with Korean Embassies in the United States, Great Britain and Canada. Since coming to Atlanta he has been involved with a number of projects and programs of the Republic of Korea with regional (US south-east and Atlantic coast) businesses and communities.
Manheimer Room -- Reuter Center -- UNCA. 7:30 PM
