The Jungle Books Kids presented by Ira B. Jones Elementary

15 Nov 2012 - 16 Nov 2012

Ira B. Jones Elementary is proud to present the stage production of The JUNGLE BOOK KIDS for the Asheville Community on Thursday, November 15 and Friday, November 16 in the Jones auditorium.
The classic musical Jungle Book Kids blends Rudyard Kipling's beloved childhood adventure with classic jazz and swing music, India's rich cultural canvas and abundant jungle fauna and flora.
This all-school production combines the skills and energy of parents, school staff and especially the students from Kindergarten through 5th grade to build sets, create props and costumes and run lights and sound. All that critical work really shows in this wonderful performance and supports the many talented students in the cast. These kids can sing!
With this production, Ira B. Jones Elementary continues a 10-year streak of hit musical theater productions that build our community, nurture artistic expression and creativity, engage students in experiential-learning, and introduce global cultures – all the while sparking friendships and appreciation among all grades levels.
City students and staff are invited to attend the 9 a.m. performance on Friday, November 16. Tickets to that performance are $2 for students and $3 for adults. The evening performances on November 15 and 16 begin at 6:30pm and are open to the public. Tickets for the evening shows are $3 for students and $5 for adults.
This lively performance is rich in cultural music and Indian folklore and expands the possibilities of Jones Global Scholars. For more information please contact Jones at 828-350-6700.
