Ethical Society of Asheville - October Platform Meeting

21 Oct 2012

“Unbelievable! Faith, Reason, & the Search for Truth” will be presented by Dr. Joseph R. Haun (author) and A.D. Reed (co-author) at the Sunday, October 21st meeting of the Ethical Society of Asheville, 2:00-3:30 PM, held at the Friends Meeting House, 227 Edgewood Road in North Asheville (off Merrimon Avenue near UNCA). Haun, Clemson University professor emeritus, has a doctorate in plant physiology. The topic is the title of Haun's 2011 philosophical memoir. Reed is a fellow member of the Ethical Society and editor-in-chief of Pisgah Press LLC. Together they will trace Dr. Haun’s journey from a childhood grounded by faith as a preacher’s son, to learning the value of “good works” during the Great Depression, to evolving his own humanist, rational worldview. There will be a discussion period following the presentation. Following the meeting, there will be time for informal conversation. All are welcome!
