Spanish RRP (Lead-Based Paint) Training for Contractors

To comply with the EPA regulation, to keep your project open and to avoid fines of as much as $750 in NC, contractors must receive an approved 8 hour training in Renovation, Repair and Painting in regards to projects where lead paint is present. Cost is FREE for those who make less than 80% of the median income in their county OR $125 for contractors who make 80% of the median income in their county or more. For Buncombe County, that’s roughly $45,000.

Registration must be completed in advance.

Location One: Green Opportunities at the W.C. Reid Center 133 Livingston Street, Asheville, NC 28801. Lunch will be provided at W.C. Reid Center.

1) Split-Day, Two-Date Training: Thursday, May 10th from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and Friday, May 11th from 8:30 – 1:30

Location 2: Asheville Friends Meetinghouse, 227 Edgewood Road, Asheville, NC 28804. Continental Breakfast will be provided at Asheville Friends Meetinghouse. Lunch is on your own.

Spanish language training, both locations:

1) Thursday, May 3rd, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Check in is half an hour before class start time.
All participants will receive an N-100 mask, disposable coverall and student manual. Upon successful completion of the class, each student will receive a cleaning verification card, certificate of course completion, as well as additional materials.

This course and this trainer, Adrianne Weir, have been approved and accredited by the EPA and the Department of Social Services, Health Hazards Control Unit, Lead-Based Paint Management Program of the state of North Carolina. This certification is accepted in the state of North Carolina and in all states that accept the EPA course.
