Spring Creek Information

Dear Friends, Some of you may be aware that a large plot of land, 1,000 acres on Hogan’s Mountain, has been bought by a Hedge Fund and is being developed. Various plans have been rumoured to be in process:  a Top Grade Professional Golf Course; a hotel and/or clubhouse; 400 living units; helicopter pad.  We are particularly concerned because our one acre property is completely surrounded by the larger plot.  Well sites have already been marked for drilling with well site 13 within sight of our home.  We have talked with Ryan Cody who says NO PLANS have yet been filed with the county; we have talked with the water commission and NO PERMITS for wells have been applied for.
                Given the recent upgrade proposed for Spring Creek, people should be aware that a major water shed and tributary, John’s Branch, runs through this property and joins Spring Creek at the old Plemmons Store (not the one in Luck). 
                Our request is that friends and neighbors contact Ryan Cody (649-3766) asking for a public hearing in Spring Creek about this development.  It will have a serious impact on the quality of life and on our beautiful Spring Creek if uncontrolled development is allowed to go ahead without supervision by the county officials.   Thank you sincerely, Karen & Paul Fredette. The Madison County Schools MANNA Backpack Program provides food for children and their families in need over the weekends by sending large bags ( 5-7 pounds) of supplemental food items home with the students on Fridays.
