Now is the time . . .
...to make a donation to keep the Swannanoa 4-H Camp open to the children, youth, and community of the mountain region!
The camp has received a $17,000 challenge grant from an anonymous donor. If the community raises several thousand additional dollars BY MAY 31st, the proposed closure will be averted, a full-time director will be reinstated, and the gates of our incredible 80-acre camp will be open for the season and beyond. A large group of community supporters from several counties is working to save the camp.
How to make a tax-deductable donation (new information):
-
If you and 99 other supporters each find TEN people to donate $17.00 each, we will make it! Thank you for sending this call-to-action along, with a personal note or phone call, to others who might choose to help.
-
Write a check for $17.00 or more, made payable to the NC 4-H DEVELOPMENT FUND.
-
On the "for" line of your check, write SWANNANOA 4-H Ctr, DIRECTOR'S SALARY. This is the only way to ensure exactly how your donation will be applied.
-
Mail your check to: Swannanoa 4-H Center, 170 Woodland Drive, Swannanoa, NC 28878. Please include your name, address, phone, and email with your check. We will send you a receipt in the mail.
Look forward to a celebration at the camp in June to thank all our donors and supporters!
If we succeed in this effort, as Center Director I will:
-
Form a strong, diverse, regional advisory council immediately.
-
Build great 4-H programs, open to ALL, with the help of the state-wide community of 4-H staff and alumni, along with other outstanding experiential educators.
-
Make the Swannanoa 4-H Camp available for use immediately by community groups of all kinds, especially those who serve children and youth.
-
Ensure that the land and the facilities are cared for using principles of sound environmental stewardship.
