ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Haywood County was hit again. An earthquake was reported Thursday evening in the same area where one was recorded earlier this week.
According to the United States Geological Survey, a 2.4 magnitude earthquake was reported about 6:27 p.m. Thursday about 2.5 miles north of Canton. It follows a 2.6 quake that was reported in the same area Tuesday.

Tuesday's earthquake was recorded at about a depth of about 0.7 miles, according to the USGS. There was no depth reported for Thursday's quake.
