Woman accused of abusing elderly patients at Buncombe County facility

Buncombe County authorities say a nursing home aide has been arrested on accusations she abused elderly, disabled patients.

Local media reports that arrest records show 34-year-old Tryquissa Maria Liverman has been charged with three misdemeanors in connection with reported assaults at a rehabilitation center.

Buncombe County sheriff's spokesman Aaron Sarver says Becky's Rest Home, located at 316 Lower Brush Creek Road, reported the possible assaults.

Arrest documents accuse Liverman of pinching and striking patients in the face.

Sarver said Adult Protective Services will also file an elder abuse report.

Liverman was released from custody with a written promise to appear.
