Wanted: Authorities searching for suspect after counterfeit $100 bills being circulated

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The Asheville Police Department is asking for help identifying their suspect after a series of incidents involving counterfeit bills being used in the city.

Within the past three months, a business located on Hendersonville Road reported receiving over a dozen counterfeit $100 bills.

The man recently captured by surveillance used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for a purchase and received legitimate bills in return.

Businesses and residents are being encouraged to carefully check all bills. If you believe you have received a counterfeit bill, please contact the Asheville Police Department.
