Multiple agencies, bomb squad respond to Macon County residence; 4 detained

MACON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Four people have been detained at a residence in Macon County and a bomb squad has been dispatched to the area as well.

Few details about the situation are available right now, but the Macon County Sheriff's Office reports multiple agencies responded to a residence on Dillard Road in Scaly Mountain on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021.

Officials say search warrants are being applied for and executed, and a bomb squad has been dispatched to the location.

The sheriff's office says the scene is secured and law enforcement will remain on scene for some time and until the scene is rendered safe.

"Charges are pending for multiple subjects but at this time no further details will be released until deemed appropriate," the sheriff's office wrote online.
