Pedestrian hit and killed on U.S. 74-A in Reynolds community

REYNOLDS, N.C. (WLOS) — Authorities said one person was killed in a crash Wednesday night on U.S. 74-A (Charlotte Highway) near Winterwind Drive.

The incident happened about 7 p.m., and an employee at a nearby business said a pedestrian was involved.

Troopers said a woman was in the roadway when she was hit and killed. The woman has not been identified.

The road was closed for about two hours.

North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
