Another round of storms increases threat of flooding

Another batch of showers and storms are pushing in from Tennessee Thursday morning. Additional heavy rainfall and strong to severe storms will still be possible through the morning hours.

Flooding threats will increase through the morning time. Storms could pack a punch with 60 mph winds and quarter size hail.

NEWS 13 WEATHER LATEST

Several damage reports are still coming in this morning from overnight storms. The biggest problems reported overnight are related to trees and wind damage.

A Tornado Watch is in effect for Cherokee and Clay counties until 2 p.m.

Other problems have been reported from the large hail over northern Buncombe and Southern Madison County Wednesday afternoon. Lots of tree damage and power outages as a result this morning.

Looking ahead

Showers and thunderstorms will continue through the morning, but we will clear out Thursday afternoon with a much quieter finish to the day.

High temperatures will reach into the 70s and 80s this afternoon with some sunshine breaking through.
