Dorothy Waterfill made a proposal for the Marketing Committee at the February meeting. Instead of a MTA brochure as had been originally proposed, the committee made the following suggestion: MTA members are encouraged to embrace the marketing opportunities currently available through the recently enhanced MTA Web page. This involves two steps: ¥ Increased participation by MTA members in the Web Site (getting your organization's details to Tom Hollis on a regular basis). Every MTA member can post such information as : your season, mission statement, seating chart, map/directions to your performance venue, ticket prices, performance photos, box office number and administrative phone and fax numbers. The Web site could even provide opportunities for people to e-mail you. ¥ Aggressive marketing of the MTA site as the destination for information about theatre in our area. Activities would include every MTA member committing to listing the MTA Web address in all brochures and programs. In addition, we would explore other ways to publicize the address and identify other links that will make it easy for people to visit the MTA site. If your organization has a Web page, it can be linked to the MTA site. We would also pursue such possibilities as having the address listed in newspaper, magazine and newsletter arts/theatre sections.

Stage One has a new web site. As part of the Open Studio program at Charlotte's Web, George Gray has created a new web site for Stage One. Check it out at www.charweb.org/arts/open/stageone.
At the February meeting a proposal was made to start a Prop Swap Book for MTA members. The members present voted to go ahead with the project as a benefit for MTA membership. Plans are still up in the air as to the "Book's" actual form. One suggestion is a page of available items on the MTA web page. Another is an actual "hard" booklet that could be distributed to members for easy reference. Got a preference? Got a prop you want to share? Let a MTA Officer know and we'll get this exciting new MTA project off to a rousing start.
