with the largest up to 2' wide. Two other leaves,
smaller but same-shaped appear on the flowering
stems. The flowers, 1/2 - 1" across appears on a
loose umbrel. Later, 1/4" blue fruits appear on the
reddened stems.
FLOWERS: May to June (Fruits: July to
August)
HABITAT: Rich, deep woods and seepage slopes.
OTHER INFORMATION: This is a fairly rare plant and should
not be disturbed if at all possible.
The
berries, i believe, are inedible and
certainly don't taste very good, even when
ripe.
