DESCRIPTION:
A small (2 - 3') and frail plant with 5
white petals that are deeply fringed and ragged.
The stalks are slender with the lancelike leaves in
whorls of 4.
FLOWERS:
July - September
HABITAT:
In and at the margins of rich, open
woods. Is an infrequent plant, but can occur in
small patches.

OTHER INFORMATION:
To be honest, I've only seen this plant
a few times and haven't even sat by it and watched
or observed much because of doing something else. I
have read where this particular species is
pollinated mosly by moths and butterflies, and
somehow it's delicateness speaks of this.
Member of the Pink family (Caryophyllacae) that
includes Fire Pink and Chickweed and many others.
