Donated computers assist needy students

Having a home computer can markedly increase a student's chances of going to college and graduating. To ensure local students have access to this critical resource, the Mars Hill College chapter of Upward Bound is seeking donated computers, printers, and other technology for needy students in Madison, Yancey, Mitchell, and Buncombe counties.

Upward Bound is a college preparatory program funded by the United States Department of Education. The year-round program provides academic services, educational and cultural trips, and a six-week residential summer program at Mars Hill College.

To qualify, students must meet low-income requirements as defined by the Department of Education and/or have parents who did not earn a four-year college degree.

Donations to Upward Bound receive a tax credit through Mars Hill College Development. Please contact Steve Rudolph 888-230-5643 (toll free) for more information.
