Rally for campaign reform today in Asheville
A citizens' rally for local campaign finance reform will be held
Tuesday, February 26, from 4 to 5 PM in front of Asheville's City
Hall. The event, co-sponsored by area civic groups, will feature
speakers Marie Colton, former State Representative from Asheville,
and Adam Sotak, representing Democracy South. Both will address the
effects of the current campaign financing system, and the need for
reform.
Music by the local band Scrappy Hamilton, information tables, and
voter registration will all be available. The coalition of sponsors
includes Citizens for Campaign Finance Reform, the League of Women
Voters, Common Cause,Taxpayers for Accountable Government (TAG),
Council of Independent Peacemakers, Coalition of Asheville
