Three people were injured, including two who were ejected from a vehicle, in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, May 3, on I-40 West near Swannanoa, officials said.

A spokesperson for the North Carolina State Highway Patrol told News 13 that just before 4 p.m. Friday, a vehicle traveling on I-40 West at Mile Marker 58 near Patton Cove Road ran off the road to the right, overcorrected and then ran off the road to the left, sending it up an embankment where it subsequently overturned multiple times.

Officials said two male passengers -- 18-year-old twin brothers -- were ejected from the vehicle, neither wearing seatbelts. The two passengers as well as the vehicle's driver were all transported to Mission Hospital.
