Time for stereotyping mascots to go

Thank you for the excellent editorial supporting the State School Board's recommendation to eliminate the use of American Indian imagery as mascots in North Carolina schools. The time has come for local school boards to recognize the inappropriate lessons our schools send through such stereotypical icons and logos.
