I just got back last night from the Honduras Bay Island race
that Set-up inc. put on. You all have GOT to start saving for
this race next year. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND and what a fun
race, hard course, but FUN. It was absolutely fantastic to get
away from the cold weather we have here and take a mini
vacation. I lounged around all day the day before the race
under a grass hut in my bathing suit. In the 80's, plenty of
breeze. I am sure to be back next year and will hopefully stay
longer to get in some scuba diving. The swim course went right
over the coral reef. The visibility was incredible and the
water temp was perfect! Set-up inc once again put on a flawless
race. It was fantastic to have familiar faces cheering so far
away from home. The race organizers really treated the athletes
well and went out of the way to make our stay a blast. The run
finished on the beach with a cookout already going on just past
the finish line. Then the post race festivities! Awards
banquet with dinner for the athletes... all outdoors just off
the beach! Then a big party down the beach with the locals. It
was hard to pack up and come back home.
Until next time,
Allison Hardy
