Part-time Customer Service Representative

Start Date: April 1st

Hours: 1-5pm for first month, then 10am-5pm (1 hour lunch) for three months

Job Description:
The Mountain Area Information Network (MAIN), a non-profit Internet service provider and media reform organization located in down town Asheville, is looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to replace a staff member during maternity leave. Job duties include answering phones and emails, recording payments, setting up new accounts, resolving billing issues, ordering office supplies, scheduling meetings, assisting with grant applications, coordinating with MAIN’s media manager and volunteer coordinator, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to type 35+ wpm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge and interest in media reform

This is a temporary position with potential to become permanent after four months.

Part-time Bookkeeper

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 25-30 hrs/week

Job Description:
The Mountain Area Information Network (MAIN), a non-profit Internet service provider and media reform organization located in down town Asheville, is looking for a a part-time, experienced bookkeeper with the ability to multi-task and work independently. Knowledge of MAIN's mission is preferred. Job duties include AP/AR, invoicing, payroll, making deposits, processing credit card payments, generating reports, taxes and other bookkeeping tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Knowledge and interest in media reform
