Carolina Village appoints McAnally as strategic communications director

Carolina Village has appointed Wendy McAnally as its director of strategic communications, a newly created position within the growing community.

McAnally will be responsible for communications, including developing strategies and executing initiatives to drive resident and employee engagement and satisfaction.

McAnally brings with her 15 years of experience in communications and marketing. Recently she spent seven years at HomeTrust Bank, where she was assistant vice president/marketing manager. There she managed communication strategy, branding, creative services, media and advertising. She also has advertising agency experience, having worked on traditional and digital communications for a variety of companies.

McAnally is a freelance writer, with work published in WNC Magazine and local publications.

“We are excited to have Wendy join our team in this new role,” said Jon Renegar, director of operations, in a news release. “She brings a fresh perspective to our growing Carolina Village community with her extensive communications experience in a variety of professional fields.”

“I’m absolutely thrilled to join the Carolina Village team and community,” McAnally said. “When I first set foot on campus, I could tell that this was a place full of heart — a true community. The family-like energy here is like few other places. It’s special and I look forward to growing with this team and all of the residents.”

A native of Georgia, Wendy has also lived or worked in Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina. She lives in Fletcher and is a graduate of Appalachian State University.
