More than 200 people joined the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s-Hendersonville in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease at Jackson Park on Sept. 29.

Participants raised over $34,500 to fund Alzheimer's care, support and research programs so far.

“Our Walk participants, volunteers, sponsors, staff and the greater Hendersonville community went above and beyond to make this year’s Walk a huge success,” Katherine L. Lambert, CEO of the Western Carolina Chapter, said in a news release. “We appreciate everyone coming together to take steps for Alzheimer’s disease and to raise critical funds for Alzheimer’s research and local support services.”

Race to Remember was the top fundraising team at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising $3,595. The other top fundraising teams include: Carolina Reserve ($2,953) and Just Goode Enough ($2,936).

“Congratulations to the top teams for their stellar fundraising efforts," Lambert said in the release. "Together, we are showing the more than 3,500 people estimated to be living with Alzheimer’s in Henderson County that we care and we will never give up in the fight to end this disease.”
