Dayton man found guilty of sexual abuse charge

Jody Ray Anderson, 42, of Dayton, pled guilty to sexual abuse in the third degree, a class C felony in violation of Iowa Code Section 709.4(1)(b)(2) and lascivious acts with a child, a class C felony in violation of Iowa Code section 709.8(1)(c). His guilty plea was in Boone County District Court on July 26.

According to the Complaint and Affidavit filed with the court: between Sept. 1, 2011 until Jan. 30, 2012, Anderson committed a sex act with a child around 13 years of age, of which Anderson later confessed. An additional Complaint and Affidavit filed with the court stated during the same period of time, Anderson committed a sex act with a child under the age of 12.

According to Iowa Courts Online, Anderson is currently in custody for a conviction of sex abuse in the third degree from Winnebego County. He is currently serving a 10-year sentence in that case.

The case was investigated by the Boone Police Department and Iowa Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The case was prosecuted by the Boone County Attorney’s Office.

Sentencing has been scheduled for a future date. Anderson’s possible sentences on these charges can be up to 10 years in prison for each charge on top of the sentence in Winnebego County. In summary, he faces up to 30 years in prison with the Iowa Department of Corrections.
