Weather affects local sporting events

The weather system that moved through the area Thursday has had an effect on local sporting contests.

The La Junta High School girls' tennis match at Pueblo Centennial on Thursday was postponed. It has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The LJHS home baseball game against Lamar originally scheduled for today (Friday) has been rescheduled for Saturday. Game time at 22nd Street Field is at 1 p.m.

La Junta's track and field team was scheduled to compete at the Coronado Invitational in Colorado Springs today. It has been postponed and tentatively scheduled for Monday at Garry Berry Stadium.

Manzanola's home baseball game against Cheyenne Wells has also been postponed. A make-up date has not been determined as of press time.

Otero Junior College's series with Trinidad State has also been affected. Thursday's doubleheader, which was scheduled to be played at Trinidad, was instead played at home. Sunday's doubleheader has tentatively been rescheduled to play at Trinidad.
