The Pacific field hockey team lost 1-0 to Cal on Sunday in their first home game since Sept. 27.

Pacific posted nine shots, and yielded just five, but the Golden Bears' Janaye Sakkas scored past the Tigers' Kelsey Gulledge in the first half. For Pacific (7-6, 1-1 America East Conference), Nicole Laskosky came close to creating a goal when she stole the ball from a defender to create a two-on-one break. Laskosky attempted to pass to Rylee Comeau streaking toward the goal, only to have Cal's last defender knock the ball away. Similarly, a through ball from the Tigers on a three-on-one break just eluded the stick of Ali Campos, skipping out of bounds instead.

Pacific hosts Stanford at 3 p.m. Friday and UC Davis at 2 p.m. Sunday, both conference games.
