Caleb Johnson to sing Kings of Leon on 'American Idol'

We still don't know which fellow finalist picked Caleb Johnson's song for this week's "American Idol" performance show, but the song's title has been leaked by online gossip sites.

According to tvline.com, which has been reliable in the past, the Asheville rocker will sing "Family Tree" by Kings of Leon.

"American Idol" is down to the Top 7 finalists this week, and the theme for the performance show is "Competitors' Picks." Each singer selected one song for every other singer, giving each contestant a list of six songs from which to pick.

"Family Tree" comes from Kings of Leon's 2013 album "Mechanical Bull" and will be by far the most contemporary song Johnson has taken on — as well as the most recently released of all the songs reportedly to be heard this week.

The leaked song choices are mostly from the past 10 years, with Alex Preston singing Ed Sheeran's "The A Team" (2011), Jessica Meuse taking on Miranda Lambert's "Gunpowder and Lead" (2008), C.J. Harris covering John Mayer's "Gravity" (2005) and Dexter Roberts strumming to Luke Bryan's "Muckalee Creek Water" (2011).

Sam Woolf, who was rescued from elimination two weeks ago, will reportedly sing David Gray's "Sail Away" (2001), his second tune from the singer-songwriter, and Jena Irene will do the show's oldest tune, Radiohead's debut single "Creep" (1992).

The performance show airs at 8 p.m. Wednesday on Fox, the results show at 9 p.m. Thursday.
