Caleb Johnson to sing Carrie Underwood, Black Crowes

Staff reports

With just six finalists left on Fox’s “American Idol,” each contestant will now sing two songs per show, starting with Wednesday’s “A Little Bit Country, a Little Bit Rock ’n’ Roll” theme.

For this show, each contestant will sing one country song, one rock song.

According to tvline.com, which has yet to be wrong in leaking the actual song choices before they are revealed on the show, Asheville singer Caleb Johnson will take on songs by previous “Idol” winner Carrie Underwood and by Southern rockers The Black Crowes.

The Underwood song he’ll reportedly sing is “Undo It,” her 2010 platinum single from her third album, “Play On.” The song has never been performed on “Idol.”

Also new to “Idol” would be the Black Crowes song “Sting Me,” released in 1992. It hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Album Rock Tracks that year.
