UPDATE: Man wanted for armed robbery of gas station taken into custody, officials say

MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Update, Jan. 28 at 8:19 p.m.: McDowell County Sheriff's Office, with Marion Police Department, said Saturday night that Walter Williamson was found and taken into custody.

McDowell County Sheriff's office has issued a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for a man wanted for armed robbery of a gas station.

Walter Williamson, of Nebo, is wanted for the armed robbery of a gas station in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, that happened on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Officials say Williamson has an extensive criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous.

According to the sheriff's office, Williamson was last seen Saturday morning, Jan. 28, on foot near W. Henderson Street, between the 221 bypass and area of Zaxby's restaurant.

He was described as wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and baggy pants, and he has tattoos on the left side of his neck.
