ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville police are investigating a shooting on Brooklyn Road in South Asheville, in which a man was seriously injured.
Officers responded to a call just before 3 a.m. Thursday morning, and were told that a gunshot victim could be found on Kent Street off of Shiloh Road, not far from where they had responded to.
Once on Kent Street, officers discovered a 53-year-old man shot in the leg, sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle.
The initial investigation indicates that two unidentified men on foot shot the man. He was transported to Mission Hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
