High winds caused serious issues Sunday, forcing down power lines and trees onto roads, cars and homes.

Henderson County was hit hard.

We were live from where a woman has been trapped inside after a tree fell onto her home on White Pine Drive on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were able to help her out; luckily, she is unhurt.

The fire chief on the scene tells us the tree pushed the house off its foundation and partially collapsed several rooms. There’s also substantial damage to the roof.

“This house will be unlivable for the foreseeable future until some repairs are done,” said Valley Hill Fire & Rescue Chief, Tim Garren.

And the tree also brought down power lines when it fell.

The homeowner’s brother tells us family is providing a place for her to stay, as she works to come to grips with what happened.

“Well, first of all, she’s in shock. I mean, this is pretty traumatic for anybody,” said her brother, Steve Carlisle.

Plus, strong winds brought a tree down onto a home on Oakdale Drive in Hendersonville.

The residents were home at the time, but made it out safely. They tell us their whole house shook when the tree fell.
