On Sunday, the wind just won't quit: trees are toppling over WNC, knocking out electricity.

"We we're sitting on the couch, 'bout 11:30, noon maybe. Wind was blowing real hard and we heard the tree fall, and there went the power," said Henderson County resident Joshua Garren.

At last check, over 1000 people in Henderson County ended up losing power.

We spoke with a homeowner who's been powerless for six hours on one of the coldest days of the year.

A large tree fell onto some power lines, taking out multiple poles.

Crews worked all day to restore power, hoping to get it back on by nightfall.

Windy conditions and brutal wind chill just making matters worse.

We spoke with a man living near where the tree came down.

He says that the cold weather is, of course, the concern moving into tonight, and he says might go stay with relatives if he doesn't get his power back soon.

He's just watching and wait to see what happens after the outage started hours ago.

We also saw damage to a church from all the wind, and at 10 p.m. we'll have more on the issues people are experiencing with these power outages.
