ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Heavy rain swamped the area Thursday, flooding roads and breaking records. Asheville set a record for maximum daily rainfall with 3.6 inches. Many farther south and southwest recorded 5 to 7 inches.
But Western North Carolina won't get much time to dry because there is more rain in the weekend forecast.
The front that moved through Friday will lift north again Saturday, keeping clouds and some scattered rain in the forecast.

A stronger cold front will move into WNC on Sunday, bringing a possibility for severe weather. Right now, the entire News 13 viewing area is under an elevated risk for severe weather.
Monday is expected to drier, with the chance for more rain Monday night and early Tuesday and scattered rain Wednesday night and into Thursday.
And no joke, there is a chance for snow on April 1.
