Police search for suspect in attempted armed robbery along Sweeten Creek Road in Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville police officers say they are searching for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery.

Authorities say it happened May 24 at the Market Center along Sweeten Creek Road, near Royal Pines Drive at 9:41 p.m.

Police say a canine tracked the suspect into the Walmart parking lot along Hendersonville Road.

Police ended their search Sunday night without the suspect.

They say there is no threat to the community right now.

Their investigation is still ongoing.
