Two students test positive for COVID-19 in Mitchell County

MITCHELL COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Officials with Mitchell County Schools announced that students at two schools have tested positive for the coronavirus.

SMOKEY MOUNTAIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL REMAINS IN REMOTE LEARNING AFTER COVID-19 CLUSTER

A notification from the superintendent was posted on the school system's Facebook page.

The notifications say a student at Greenlee School and a student at Mayland Early College tested positive last week.

Students and staff who were on the same bus as the student at Greenlee School have been placed on remote learning until Nov.1.
