Work wrapped up on Asheville's new water transmission line Saturday. But it wasn't "back to normal" once the work stopped.

A boil water advisory affected thousands of people starting around noon Saturday. The advisory forced the closure of some businesses including some local Starbucks stores.

We spoke with Christopher Pratt who was affected by the work and boil order. He says he applauds the city for informing residents on Friday about the work. But Pratt says he would have liked more information on the boil order that was officially issued Saturday. He told us, "The last thing any of us want is that the test results come back that there was or is some thing in the water that we shouldn't be drinking."

Pratt says the city has technology systems to keep residents informed like social media. The City of Asheville did issue notifications ahead of the work, and has a website where you can sign up.

The city's advisory says the boil precaution will last into Sunday. It advises customers to boil tap water one minute before consuming it. The advisory is set to be lifted after the water is cleared of bacteria with no risk present.

Pratt says he appreciates the notification but looks for more information along the way.
