Fletcher police investigate shooting at Budget Motel

FLETCHER, N.C. (WLOS) — Fletcher police are investigating after a woman was shot Friday afternoon at a local motel.

Officers were called to the Budget Motel on Underwood Road about 12:24 p.m. where there was a report of a person with a gunshot wound.

Police said they found a woman who had been shot in the leg. She was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities ask the public to help locate a rented 2019 silver Mazda CX5 with Tennessee license plate 9N42P6. The vehicle was seen leaving the parking lot after the incident, and might be in the Asheville area.

No arrests have been made, and the incident is under investigation.
